Corsica trip - 2020 - 29th-6th Septembre
This year we are organising a trip to Corsica in Galeria at the North-west part of the island in the region called 'Balagne'.
We will be staying at 'L'Incantu' which is a renowned diving club for Scuba but also has a good experience with freedivers.

The stay is from Sunday to Sunday and does not include the flights. The cost is Eur 730 for full board and Eur 618 for half-board (lunch not included). It includes lodging, airport transfer and 10 dives on our own boat with skipper.
For non-diving people, it will be Eur 480 for the stay. You can bring children where we can see to accommodate baby-sitting while you dive.
Everyone will be welcome to do some scuba dives and let us know if you wish to get qualified which we can arrange in advance.
Picking full or half-board is your choice. Between choosing a light lunch for the afternoon dive and wanting to explore the nearby bars and restaurant around the village, half-board is maybe the right choice.
The flights can be direct from Stansted to Calvi airport (Sainte-Catherine - Airport CLI) and cost currently for the flight is £193 r/t. You can also fly to Bastia and transfer takes about 3 hours from Bastia bus centre or by train - which is a typical and beautiful ride through the mountainous part of the Island. Ajaccio and Figari are too far south to be commuting back to Galeria in less than a day unless you rent a car (3 hours from Ajaccio and 5-6 hours from Figari).
The days will be split in the morning from 8:30am with depth dives then more exploration and fun in the afternoon for the 02:30 pm. It means no or very early breakfast and early lunch. Galeria is a pleasant village with some nice bars and restaurant - not a hard core party place but enough to shop some basic foods, water and taste local wines and beers.
We will most likely have a day-off for rest and hiking to a refuge where we will be served local food grown around the refuge, corsican beer and wine bathing in cold river before a well deserved sleep under the stars.
Finally one day at Scandola national reservation, diving around groupers and local fishes will be a nice day out... depending how many bottles we drink at lunch :-).
Equipment such as long fins and wetsuits can be bought in Calvi or better in Bastia maybe arriving one day early and staying there for a night. 5mmm or 3mm would do but you can quickly get cold so the best compromise for Chepstow, the Med and the Red Sea will remain a 5mm.
Weigths can be rented out at the Club but you will need to let us know. We will produce a list of things to bring for the trip in advance.
More to come.
Cheers, The Ever Imaginative Travel Committee.
